2025 CHS Art Show

Due to weather related field conditions, today's (5/6) Orphan Baseball game will be held at Mt. Vernon at 5:00 pm. Wednesday's (5/7) game will be held in Centralia at 4:30 pm.

The Annies Softball team will make up their suspended game with Marion on May 20th at 4:30 pm in Marion. The game will start in the bottom of the 8th inning with a 0-0 tie. The Charleston game scheduled for that day has been cancelled.
The Orphan Baseball team will play at North Clay tomorrow (5/3) at 10:00 am.

On May 1st, Elcie Cullip and Carter Lorence competed at the Illinois State History Day in Springfield, where they presented their research papers on historical rights and responsibilities. While waiting for final judging, they enjoyed just a few of the historical sites available in downtown Springfield, as well as a delicious pizza lunch. Both of them wrote excellent papers, and Elcie Cullip finished as a State Finalist. Congratulations to them both!





The Centralia Baseball Tournament scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd is cancelled. It will not be made up.
The Belleville East Tennis Tournament for today & tomorrow is cancelled. The Orphan Tennis team will play Jerseyville in O'Fallon today at 1:00 pm.
Due to a conference make up game, Flora has cancelled the softball game scheduled for Friday May 2nd.
The senior Health Occ students enjoyed their tour of the Pregnancy Care Clinic. They learned about free STD testing and other important services they offer.



Foods 2 students had the opportunity to participate in an exciting educational field trip at the FireFly restaurant in Effingham, IL. The experience deepened students' understanding of farm to table concepts and exposed them to real world applications of sustainable food practices. The class received a guided tour of the kitchen's operations as well as a walk-through of the surrounding property to learn more about how locally sourced ingredients are incorporated into The FireFLy menu. The trip ended with a delicious farm to table lunch with a choice entree and specialty desserts.







A list of the Academic Pep Assembly award winners has been posted for the students in the cafetorium and an official invitation has been sent to the parents of the award winners. This prestigious assembly, which also includes four talent acts, will be held on May 12 at 1:00 pm in the gymnasium. The public is invited and we would especially love to see the family members of those well deserving students who are receiving an award or performing.

The Annies track meet at Herrin today (4/29) has been cancelled. No make up date has been set at this time.
The Orphans' baseball and Annies' softball games today vs Marion have been cancelled and will be made up on Tuesday, May 13th with a 4:30 start time for both.
